The area known as Point Washington runs north of Hwy. 98 up to the Choctawhatchee Bay, and from Sandestin in the west to WaterSound North in the east. Most of that area is a part of the pristine 15,000 acre Point Washington State Forest. It is also the home of Eden State Gardens and the Wesley Mansion with its magnificent old oak trees, draped in Spanish moss. Point Washington offers bay front or bayou living, and has several subdivisions tucked in among the forest trees. Most residents of Point Washington are full timers who appreciate the proximity to the Gulf of Mexico’s stunning beaches when they want to sun, surf or swim, and who enjoy the serenity of the forest when they are not at the beach.
